House of Blues at Downtown Disney

This 35,858 square foot Downtown Disney project was completed in 1997 and includes entertainment, restaurant, and retail spaces. The use of a rustic bayou architectural style housed within a “dilapidated” mill structure turned juke joint created a unique themed environment. The dominant space – an expansive, high-ceilinged performance hall – incorporates interior accents and craftsmanship which contribute to the ambiance. Details include a coffered and carved ceiling which is integrated along the main axis of the restaurant, emphasizing the gabled tin roof planks.

This project was designed in collaboration with Teller Manok Architects in Laguna Beach, California.
